The SEM microstructural analysis showed that the synthesised ZnS contained mainly grains of crystalline ZnS nanoparticles with regular shape. The ZnS:Cu, ZnS:Cu+Ag and ZnS:Cu+Y nanoparticles were found to be 11.253 nm, 9.8523 nm and 11.000 nm respectively.

Characterisation of Synthesised Co-Doped ZnS nanoparticles

The FTIR analysis of the sample was recorded in a range from 500 cm  to 4000 cm   with KBr (Potassium Bromide) acting as non-absorbing medium, mixed with solid sample by an agate mortar and pestle to prepare for a disk specimen.

The FTIR spectrum showed the IR absorption due to various vibrational modes. The characteristic major peaks of ZnS could be observed were in good agreement with reported results. The observed peaks at 1050-1150 cm   several peaks are attributed to C-O stretching modes, while 1670-1820 cm  C=O stretching modes and broad absorption peaks in range of 3100-3600 cm  corresponded to O-H stretching modes.

The polar O-H bonds of glucose is hydrophilic and is thus likely to have increased the solubility of ZnS which is insoluble in water (threshold 1.00 x10   mol dm  ).
